Walter E. Polk, Ph.D.

Walter E. Polk, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist, licensed in Maryland since 1981, and has been in private practice in Harford County since 1983.  Dr. Polk received his B.A. from Villanova University and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from DePaul University.  He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Maryland Psychological Association.  He has also been listed in the National Register of Health Service Psychologists for 30 years.

Dr. Polk is a Certified IMAGO therapist for couples counseling. After seeing couples for over 30 years, he believes that IMAGO Therapy best captures the therapeutic ingredients in helping couples learn how to better connect, to give and receive the love they want and to better manage the power struggles that all couples go through.  

Dr. Polk also sees a variety of other clients over a full range of ages and problems.  Over the years, he has specialized in areas of child and family evaluations, parent coordination, forensic psychology, Attention Deficit Disorder evaluations and cognitive-behavioral interventions. His theoretical orientation is eclectic with a strong understanding that present life frustrations and appreciations are often very related to early childhood learning.  

Dr. Polk is a father, husband and grandfather.  He is an avid sports enthusiast and always enjoys the challenges of golf. 


Lucille Romeo, Psy.D.

Dr. Lucille Romeo is a licensed psychologist who focuses on individual, marital, and family therapy using a family systems approach and individualizing treatment dependent on the patient's and family's psychological needs. Other treatment specialties include court and forensic evaluations, psychological, personality, emotional, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder assessments, and therapy for symptoms of depression, anxiety, emotional/behavioral difficulties, and family dysfunction. Age range for treatment is from 5 years to 65 years.

Dr. Romeo has been licensed as a psychologist since 1989 and is a fellow member of the American Psychological Association and the Maryland Psychological Association.  She is a clinical member and an Approved Supervisor for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).  She was a board member for the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists and the ethics chair for AAMFT.  She is currently a Board-Approved Supervisor for the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.

Dr. Romeo is bilingual in English and Spanish.  Hobbies and interest include playing tennis, swimming, and traveling with her husband.
